Acrylic Face Mounting

Windland-Smith-Rice-Awards-5-2014

Prints face mounted to acrylic. 2014 Smithsonian “Windland Smith Rice Awards” Exhibition

In acrylic face mounting the print is sandwiched between acrylic and a mounting substrate. An optically clear adhesive is used to attach the face of the print to the acrylic. We apply an inset frame to the back of the print. Viewing the print through Plexiglas adds an illusion of depth to the image.

What our face mounts are made of:

  • 1/8″ acrylic:
    • with machine polished edges
    • that meets museum standards for UV protection, durability and optical clarity
  • The highest rated optically clear adhesive for clarity, strength and UV protection on the market
