Optimizing Low Resolution Files for University Exhibit

November 21, 2024 By Mara McCall

Nine panels displayed in College Hall.

Deaf and hearing people alike view Gallaudet as the primary resource for all things related to deaf people. By optimizing low resolution files, we were able to bring the history of this renowned university to life in an exhibit displayed in College Hall, the main administration building and itself an historical icon. Optimizing low resolution files allowed us to produce 9 – 48” x 108” crisp, clear images with exceptional color depth and richness. The lightweight mounted prints were displayed in metal snap frames for easy future print replacement. As the installation progressed, staff and students stopped to look at the prints and show their appreciation. When we finished and were driving away, the Director of Exhibits shot us a text. “Everything looks amazing! Thank you so much!” it said. And that’s the best part about what we do.

We were able to repurpose old files of less than acceptable image quality into crisp, clear images with exceptional color depth and richness.
